Daikin Rental Solutions grows UK fleet with integrated multi-technology investment

Daikin Rental Solutions has invested significantly in its UK hire fleet, adding high-capacity cooling systems, heat pump technology, process cooling equipment and purpose-built air handling units to its portfolio.

The expansion is designed to meet rising demand for temporary HVAC solutions, combining operational flexibility with long-term sustainability credentials, via a fully managed, multi-technology approach.

Rental models built around outcomes

Where many hire providers source mixed or third-party equipment, Daikin Rental Solutions operates exclusively with factory-built systems from its own manufacturing base. This gives customers access to the same generation of technology found in permanent installations, with the added benefit of full system integration, professional commissioning and ongoing technical support included as standard.

Every project is delivered as a fully managed package — from initial site evaluation through to handover — ensuring customers experience minimal disruption and consistent performance throughout the entirety of their hire period.

UK Rental Sales Manager at Daikin Rental Solutions, Mike England, had this to say of the expansion: “In many of the sectors we support, downtime simply isn’t an option. Customers need solutions that are not only available quickly but that perform reliably and integrate seamlessly into their existing systems.

“This investment represents a significant step forward in how we support those requirements. By expanding our fleet across cooling, heating, process and airside technologies, we can deliver complete, high-performance solutions tailored to each application.

“At the same time, our focus on modern, factory-built equipment ensures customers benefit from the efficiency, reliability and flexibility needed to meet both operational and sustainability objectives.”

Supporting future-focused businesses

Sectors where unplanned downtime carries significant operational or financial risk — including pharmaceuticals, food production, healthcare, manufacturing and data centres — are driving increased demand for large-scale temporary cooling.

To meet this requirement, Daikin has added 800kW and 1MW inverter-driven screw chillers to its fleet, alongside an extended range of scroll heat pumps spanning 50kW to 500kW. The fleet also now includes 250kW and 500kW dry-air coolers, which support closed-loop process cooling. This reduces the operational load on mechanical cooling equipment and improves overall system energy performance.

The move away from fossil fuel-based heating systems is also accelerating across sectors, with temporary HVAC increasingly used as a bridging measure — allowing organisations to maintain heat supply while permanent low-carbon systems are designed, approved, and installed.

Daikin’s expanded heat pump rental offering gives customers a practical way to introduce electrified heating on an interim basis, supporting decarbonisation timelines without compromising operational continuity.

Alongside its waterside expansion, Daikin Rental Solutions has introduced a new range of air-handling units, including 50kW vertical units, standard 100kW AHUs and low-temperature variants developed for cleanroom, healthcare, and hygiene-critical environments. Their availability allows Daikin to deliver fully integrated airside and waterside solutions as a single, coordinated package.

A growing market

Demand for flexible HVAC hire continues to grow as more organisations begin to explore alternatives to outright purchase. Increasingly, companies are looking for partners that deliver much more than equipment alone, such as the Daikin Rental Solutions’ remote monitoring and digital control functionality.

The new fleet also offers improved operational visibility, predictive maintenance support and enhanced reporting where required. With advanced equipment, UK-based manufacturing capability and a nationwide engineering network, Daikin Rental Solutions is positioned to meet that demand — supporting critical operations now while enabling customers to progress their transition to more efficient, lower-carbon HVAC systems over time.
