THE WHICHEV VIEW: Nissan LEAF gets 386 mile range and cross makeover

By WhichEV

Nissan has pulled the wraps off its crucial third-generation LEAF, revealing a radical transformation from a familiar hatchback into a sleek, aerodynamic crossover.

Proudly built in Britain, the all-new model made its debut in Copenhagen today, boasting a headline range of up to 386 miles, a suite of integrated Google technologies, and rapid charging capabilities designed to reaffirm its place at the forefront of the electric vehicle market.

The original LEAF, launched in 2011, was a true pioneer, introducing the world to mass-market electric mobility. This new model, however, enters a vastly more competitive landscape. To meet the challenge, Nissan has leveraged its advanced CMF-EV platform, shared with the larger Ariya, to deliver a vehicle that aims to blend style, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology. Production is set to begin at Nissan’s world-class EV manufacturing hub in Sunderland before the end of the year, with the first customer deliveries anticipated for Spring 2026.
