As the demand for zero-emission commercial vehicles rises across Europe, BYD, a Chinese multinational known for its electric vehicles (EVs) and power batteries, has introduced its new electric truck, the ETH8, into the European market.
The truck was officially launched at the IAA 2024 event, as cities across Europe implement stricter emission regulations, pushing companies to transition from diesel to electric fleets.
In addition to the push for cleaner air, several governments across Europe are incentivising the switch to electric commercial vehicles. These initiatives, both at national and local levels, include grants, tax breaks, and subsidies that aim to ease the financial burden of transitioning from traditional diesel-powered vehicles to electric alternatives.
